Agusa (PC24)

We are incredibly happy to make the first PC24 announcement, who will also be the opening act for BANNED FROM UTOPIA in Gothenburg March 8 and Stockholm March 9, the brilliant:

Many of you are probably familiar with this band, perhaps from their most recent release ”Prima materia” that has a well deserved spot high up on many best-of-2023-lists in the genre. Perhaps you have seen them live on one of the big prog festivals like Night of the Prog in Lorelei, Crescendo in France, Ino Rock Festival in Poland, Minnuendö in Spain, Verona Prog Fest, Slottsskogen goes Progressive or perhaps at Roadburn, on their Italian tour or at the PC event ”Förfesten – ett dygn kvar till Magma”.

Since their birth in 2013 in the tiny village Agusa that gave the band it’s name, they have remained loyal to the vision to bring together elements of Nordic and Latin American folk music, mixed with space rock, kraut rock and jazz. Through member changes, 5 awesome studio albums, 3 equally nice live albums and many gigs, the core identity and sound has remained, and it seems that with the latest album and some prestigeous gigs, Agusa are having something of a breakthrough in the prog world right now.

On stage, opening for Banned from Utopia and at PC24 you will see founding member Mikael Ödesjö on guitar, Jenny Puertas on flute, Simon Ström on bass, Roman Andrén on keyboards and Nicolás Difonis on drums, who will supply a live experience you won’t forget, with meditative soft parts as well as epic ecstasies and with the occasional visit to a rock hard darkness.

If you haven’t checked Agusa out already, we strongly advice that you do so, especially if you’re a fan of Änglagård, Kebnekajse, Santana, The Doors, Camel or Wobbler. Prepare to be taken back to the 70s but also to something new and unexplored.
