Adam Wakeman – Grammy winning touring keyboardist for Black Sabbath & Ozzy Osbourne, and also son of a capewearing prog keyboard wizard – put together JAZZ SABBATH in 2020, to play new jazz arrangements of Black Sabbath songs. Despite this fact, the band presents itself as a jazz trio founded in 1968 and the original authors of the tracks later made famous by Black Sabbath. Go figure…
JAZZ SABBATH explores the boundaries between jazz and the songs that defined heavy metal, revisiting existing jazz riffs and discovering new ones. Whether or not you choose to believe their wild backstory, with three albums high in the Billboard Jazz Charts, sold-out shows worldwide, and rave reviews in both jazz and rock media, Jazz Sabbath is quickly making its way (back) to the top of the jazz scene.
